Well, it is still crashing on people sometimes (heavily under BSD as I
witnessed last night) and the details about how to implement a transport
protocol are not documented (but there are 2 functioning implementations). I
think the answer depends on your crash-tolerance level :-). Also, I doubt you
can do the IPv6 version in an afternoon, the code is a bit too convoluted for
that if you never looked at it :-) I did TCP (IPv4) in about 6h, but I knew
my way around the code (admitted, I had to fix some other issues in the core
to make it work during that time).
But don't let this discourage you, you can probably do it (under Linux, BSD
will not be stable enough).
