We do not have the resources for this at the time being.  We're only
going to do a couple mid or higher level things in Rust right now.  

If you guys can produce a good simpler fairly generic lower layer, then
maybe GNUnet could use that for certain classes of nodes or something,
not really sure.

Also, there are periodic discussions in the Tor community about NAT
traversal.  They've very smart people like Yawning who built things like
pluggable transports and deemed NATs to be too hard to be worth solving.
It's probably worth skimming what's been said about it in their mailing
list archives.  I'd imagine that, if you produce a good solution, then
they'd become interested eventually.  

Anyways, there are many projects with this NAT problem, so if you've a
nice solution then people will be interested.
