That was the other alternative I had in mind. I see no problem here.

Yes, please do it. 

Concerning firefly: Is firefly supposed to be the new sam? I heared
about firefly on GHM and made a little plan for backup/restore. But
nobody mentioned a migration to firefly. So please update me.
