Subject: GNU Anastasis press release of September 29, 2021 badly linked by Planet GNU: Fixable on our site?
Date: Mon, 04 Oct 2021 17:52:05 +0200

Hello,

2 issues:

1. When you visit https://www.gnu.org/ today and have a look at the embedded
Planet GNU news window at the upper part of the site on the right, one of the
three news snippets is said GNU Anastasis press release:

'*GNU Anastasis v0.2.0 released*: GNU Anastasis is a Free Software protocol and
implementation that allows users to securely deposit core secrets with an open
set of escrow providers and to reco... '

The part between the two *'s has a clickable link, this one:
https://anastasis.lu/en/news/news/2021-10.html

Clicking on it doesn't lead to the teasered news, but instead to

'404 Not Found
nginx/1.18.0'

Visiting https://planet.gnu.org/ the news snippet listed 2 times, is a bit more
extended, and has more links:

'
*GNU Anastasis v0.2.0 released*
GNU Anastasis is a Free Software protocol and implementation that allows users
to securely deposit core secrets with an open set of escrow providers and to
recover these secrets if their original copies are lost.

*29 September, 2021 10:00PM*

#GNU Anastasis v0.2.0 released#
GNU Anastasis is a Free Software protocol and implementation that allows users
to securely deposit core secrets with an open set of escrow providers and to
recover these secrets if their original copies are lost.

#29 September, 2021 10:00PM#'

The 2 parts between two *'s have the same problem as experienced with the
embedded Planet GNU window on gnu.org.

The 2 parts between the two #'s has a working link, leading to
https://anastasis.lu/en/news/2021-10.html

I thought it's useful to inform you about this flaw, because you're certainly
interested in getting this news item out as good as possible and by knowing
that flaw you maybe can fix it one way or another. I don't know if the wrong
link is from somewhere on the GNU Anastasis website and correctly grapped by
Planet GNU, or if the flaw originates from Planet GNU itself.
In the first case, maybe the link can be found and fixed, in the later case,
maybe GNUnet team can inform Planet GNU team, so that the Planet GNU team can
fix the link - maybe for now regarding said news or sustainably so that this
flaw doesn't happen again in future grapped press releases of GNU Anastasis.

2.
Besides, navigating through https://anastasis.lu/ seperately to it's news
section https://anastasis.lu/en/docs_news.html one discovers a news snippet to
said news, but no link to the press release.

Best regards,
Bastian Schmidt
