Hi David,
Just dropping a note to you and the list.
Monet now supports regular English text entry instead of the phoneme
string that was obtained from PreMo. The English text entry area also
supports arbitrary punctuation with a quick fix to the TTSParser class
in GnuSpeech.framework (as already mentioned) -- until we get a chance
to look at this more closely.
Changes:
- changes to TTSParser in GnuSpeech.framework
- addition of MTextToPhone class to Monet
- modifications to Synthesis.xib for updated interface
Strictly speaking, PreMo is no longer necessary to use Monet, but will
remain as a legacy application.
I could roll these changes into the GNUstep version myself, as they
shouldn't be system dependent -- but as I don't have a GNUstep system
to test against, I would need some feedback to make sure everything is
working. Otherwise, anyone that's interested could just get the
modified files from the OS X version and diff them into the GNUstep
version. I can generate a 2.x .nib version of the new Synthesis.xib
interface as well if anyone is interested...
Latest is on SVN.
Best,
Dalmazio
