Ok. Perhaps I might abandon doing branches at least for gui and back, since they're really beta anyway...

Might I suggest a more strict focus on making sure that the OpenStep aspects of the system are complete, clean, and fully functional? This way, at least the OpenStep functionality of GNUstep could be considered implemented. Even if it isn't perfect, at least the interfaces could be final, and would not change in the future.

Well, perhaps I misunderstand, but I think that is what is mostly being done now, although there is a lot of talk about maintaining MacOSX compatibility as well. However, I don't think anyone is spending time writting new (MacOSX) classes, just trying to make the current ones more robust.
