Yes for weekly tar.gz snapshots.
For the name, it's easier for me to keep somethings like
GNUstep-source-core-20040924.tar.gz
GNUstep-source-dev-apps-20040924.tar.gz
GNUstep-source-dev-libs-20040924.tar.gz
....
