I've included (there) a patch to choose either giflib or ungif from
./configure. The source code changes are simple, but the configure.ac
changes may want to be reviewed, as that stuff will likely remain
voodoo magic to me for the entirety of my days.
... and yeah, I know, since the libraries do the same thing, it's kind
of silly to have both, but since the LZW patent has expired, it's nice
to have this option. Happily, I've been running with my patched
version for days, and so far, everything seems fine.
