GNUstep 1.0

1. it says current base/make/back ... but what about ms-windows
support ... I'm guessing we want base/make/back fixes/improvements
for windows as it's not nearly such a good state as unix-style
systems. I'm not sure this is a 1.1 issue rather than 1.0
This also ignores the fact that window manager interaction (focus in
particular) is undoubtedly the biggest problem with current apps, and
is a backend issue at least as much as a gui issue.

Windows support is coming along, but I don't think it's realistic to expect 1.0
level support soon.

I think that base/make on Windows are 1.0 quality now. (As long as the fileSystemEncoding does NOT return a non-intuitive unicode string.) So much so that I have shipped my commercial application with gnustep-base to 500-700 users at 21 hospitals.

As for GUI, it will be a long time (maybe forever) before it is production quality on windows. I wouldn't hold up any release for it. I don't care about gui on windows, and I bet few other people do either. Gnustep is in that catch-22 situation that there will not be any demand for gnustep gui (on windows) unless it is finished, and no one will finish it unless there is a big demand for it.
