Luboš is actually working on binary compatibility of OS X and Linux (and apparently iOS :P). Similar effort for iOS by Christina Brooks: http://crna.cc/magenta_source.html

But, it'd definitely focus more on "develop once, deploy everywhere"; anything else is a bonus. :-)
