Save us all a lot of trouble and use the verison on ntp-dev.
That will become 4.2.8, and I want to release 4.2.8 ASAP.

Try running your verions with and without the -d.  And there will be a
-d level in your version that will tell you the stratum.  But again, the
latest version of sntp makes this a lot easier.

There's been way more discussion here than what I can kee track of.

Yes,  odl version sthat does not behave correctly on several fronts.

Please use the sntp code from ntp-dev, and that will be 4.2.8 as soon as
I can get that released.

If you write docs for sntp-4.2.6, those instructions will soon be obsolete.
