I can test PPS here, so I should be able to fix this quickly. NTP not
as easy.  Do you have or know how to build a test for it?

No need to get snippy.  I break stuff occasionally *because* I'm trying
to fix things.

Right now my #2 monitor just went crazy; I need to run out and replace it.

I'll fix PPS as soon as I get back.  Because I noted when it was
working in a recent change comment, the bisection will be fast.
