A different issue is whether it's OK to output the PPS messages only at -D2. Should they be visible at any debug level? I'm not clear on the strategy for what's at what level. I would think the first debug level would be expected to output things at startup and once steady state was reached not print anything. So 2 seems ok. I would like it to be clear whether gpsd thinks the rising edge (assert) or falling edge is the right one. I have found that the GR601-W seems to use the falling edge (as in the signal is asserted 100 ms after a second and deasserted as the second happens).
