[gpsd-dev] Something screwy (qqq-ewy?) with gpsmon

Has anybody seen this before?

[I used space as a bogus command to freeze the display.]

This is ssh-ed over to tom.  It works OK from a different window so it's 
probably something strange on this window, but I have no idea what that could 
be.  I diff-ed the outputs of printenv and didn't see anything interesting.

In case it matters, this is talking to SiRF:
  GSW3.2.2_3.1.00.12-SDK003P1.01a

I get similar stuff in NMEA mode.
