The git 'author' is really just the commiter.  I commmited it, and it
is from you.


If that is the way of this project, ok.

It's just that this is different from all other (git) projects I know.
In git land 'author' is for the author and 'committer' is for the committer. Git has these 2 fields for a reason ;-)
