Please test head with WRITE_PAD and CLOSE_DELAY zeroed.  It looks
now as though O_NONBLOCK may have been the culprit behind that problem too.

Current behavior is to open with O_NOBLOCK, set CLOCAL, then use fcntl to
clear O_NONBLOCK.  This seems to work fine even if no VTIME is set!

I have a Gentoo unstable AMD64 VM, on a small ESXi farm, that I can’t get to pass, no matter how large I set the PAD & DELAY.

Run normal regression tests for release-3.11-345-gaa4b25a...

Regression test FAILED: 89 errors in 89 tests total (0 not found).

Fails all tests.  Where else should I look?
