Correct - no JSON is ever received. Also, cgps starts, draws the boxes, and
the quits. Does cgps use JSON to talk with gpsd?

I’m seeing inconsistencies when testing further. Sometimes gpsd hunts & never
is able to speak with the GPS (auto-bauding fails). Let’s not spend more time
troubleshooting with this specific GPS. Bluetooth serial connections are a
pain in the rear, and I suspect this is the problem. Mac OS X drops the
bluetooth serial connection as soon as the client closes the connection. I
suspect it might be resetting the tty settings or expecting certain tty
settings when re-opening the bluetooth serial connection.

Can anyone recommend a USB GPS receiver? With PPS would be nice, but is
optional. I thought someone on the list had purchased a “lot” of GPS receivers
and still had some for sale, but don’t remember who.

Thanks,
Frank
