I interpreted this to mean any version after 2.6 (ie. 3.x, etc.) This was not true. gpsd (at least the testing tools) require Python major version of 2. Python 3.x reports some errors with some of the test code.
** I ** know that Python 2.x & 3.x differ dramatically, but others may not. Maybe this should be clarified.
