Ubuntu 11.10 should be supported, of course.

I looked up the history for this earlier, and saw esr's comment here:

I understood this to mean that the gpsd source had a fix in it since 3.5, hence 3.6 (et seq) do not need this info.

On the other hand, I have for the last few years run debian testing on all my DC servers, and am running the development version of Ubuntu on my desktop, so I am the wrong guy to ask about oldstable :-)
