Current clone, gpsd 'scons check' passes on an Intel Edison (
http://download.intel.com/support/edison/sb/edison_pb_331179001.pdf) running Gentoo unstable, kernel
Linux edison 3.10.17-yocto-standard-r2 #7 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 26 09:57:06 UTC 2015 i686 Genuine Intel(R) CPU 4000 @ 500MHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux .
I have an additional adafruit "Ultimate GPS" (
https://www.adafruit.com/products/746) coming for use with an Edison. It uses MTK3339 chipset (lots of good chipset documentation at adafruits product page linked above).
The MTK3339 has a RTC onboard that can be powered years by a lithium cell battery. This is useful for boards like the Edison & Raspberry Pi, who do not have any built-in battery powered RTC.
