Yo Eric!
I think RFC2783 now runs fine with no TIOMCIWAIT. Someone should test that
on BSD.
Going back to naked /dev/pps0 on a RasPi.
Here is my test command:
gpsd -nND 9 /dev/pps0 /dev/AMA0 |& fgrep pps0
Things start to go well, then gpsd deactivates the /dev/pps0:
gpsd:PROG: PPS:/dev/pps0 edge rejected missing last_fixtime
gpsd:INFO: KPPS:/dev/ttyAMA0 checking /sys/devices/virtual/pps/pps0/path,
gpsd:ERROR: KPPS:/dev/pps0 kernel PPS failed Interrupted system call
gpsd:ERROR: KPPS:/dev/pps0 kernel PPS failed Interrupted system call
gpsd:INFO: GPS on /dev/pps0 returned error -1 (0.973736 sec since data)
gpsd:WARN: device read of /dev/pps0 returned error or packet sniffer failed
sync (flags {ERROR})
gpsd:INFO: closing GPS=/dev/pps0 (5)
gpsd:SPIN: close(5) in gpsd_close(/dev/pps0)
gpsd:PROG: KPP:/dev/pps0 assert 1427326983.000101032, sequence: 450062 - clear
0.000000000, sequence: 0
gpsd:PROG: KPPS:/dev/pps0 data: last edge assert
gpsd:PROG: KPPS:/dev/pps0 cycle: 999999 uSec, duration: 671944 uSec @
1427326983.000101032
gpsd:RAW: PPS:/dev/pps0 pps-detect invisible pulse
gpsd:PROG: PPS:/dev/pps0 cycle: 999999 uSec, duration: 0, edge: 0, uSec
@ 1427326983.000101032
gpsd:PROG: PPS:/dev/pps0 edge rejected missing last_fixtime
gpsd:PROG: PPS:/dev/pps0 descriptor cleaned up
gpsd:PROG: PPS:/dev/pps0 gpsd_ppsmonitor exited.
Do you know how to tell the sniffer this is a pps device and to just let
it be?
RGDS
GARY
