The document is not even about hacking GPS, as it states, you should rely on gpsd to do the work for you.

I have a feeling that enough of it can be dropped, either:
  1. It duplicates material elsewhere, eg, the NMEA section
  2. It is out of date, eg, the emphasis on WAAS and EGNOS
  3. It is covering topics that are no longer obscure, eg, "How does GPS work"
  4. It is very dated, from a time that we no can no longer recall, eg, the Zodiac chipset issues
I started off trying for consistency, and would still like that. There is much more information via Google now then there was when this was esoteric, and esr, ckuethe, et al, had to document all the gotchas.

To start with, can I merge the NMEA section into NMEA.html (if it is not already there), and drop from this?
