Here's some additional info from the Openmoko days regarding A-GPS: [1].

It seems we know enough (or almost enough) about Antaris 4 UBX
protocol to be able to convert and upload ephemerides and other
necessary data obtained from elsewhere. As already noted, A-GPS is not
that important nowadays as it used to be thanks to extreme sensitivity
and number of correlators in modern-day receivers.
