Gary,

I've had a look through the source and there looks like there is a good compiler macro that I want to disable as that has all of the changing of the settings..

The flag is RECONFIGURE_ENABLE.

I don't really know scons but I can't for the life of me work out how to compile that with RECONFIGURE_ENABLE set to undefined.

Any ideas anyone?

Then that would be a bug.  gpsd is first supposed to try the existing
settings.

Let us know what you find.
