here is the log file from 

valgrind --trace-children=yes --show-reachable=yes --leak-check=full -v 
./gpsmon -n 2> ~/log.txt

Please note, that the allocated bytes and blocks increase over the time

==16555==    still reachable: 1,166,504 bytes in 2,427 blocks
