I was.  But to be fair, in my days, we used FORTRAN IV (and something new called FORTRAN 77), and I never heard of memory leaks.  I _did_ buy a copy of K&R, the yellow one (the white one was ANSI C), but I do not think I read past the hello world example.

In 1994, I "worked" with COBOL for a few months, where the team joked that COBOL's equiv of C++ was "ADD 1 to COBOL".  I knew enough COBOL to get the joke.

Why do you think all my commits are to the docs? :-)
