The above does not show PPS.  I wouldn’t expect it to - how does
`gpsmon` know which device to use for PPS?

very recent gpsd is special cased to add /dev/pps0 to its device when it
sees /dev/ttyAMA0.  So consider it lightly tested.

Or run gpsd first, then simply "gpsmon" to run it in client mode.  Then
gpsd does all the work.

I never use gpsmon, preferring caps.

Nope - no PPS.  Not with gpsmon, gpsmon in client mode or cgps.

Do I need to add anything to the command line for gpsd:
dev2-rpi gpsd # ./gpsd /dev/ttyAMA0

I forgot to mention I did a ‘git clone --depth=1 git://git.savannah.nongnu.org/gpsd.git’ just yesterday evening, and built gpsd from scratch.
