It decodes all the Skytraq NMEA, Private NMEA and Serial that my Venus 8
GPS send out.

Yes, it dumps the software revision in INFO.

For now, it just dumps the software revision in INFO, and then decodes
the binary.  Both new features.

There are some proprietary NMEA sentences, and Skytraq/Venus unique
binary.

Version 8.  Version 6 and 7 are still common.  Like the u-blox 6, 7, and 8.

That would be a Venus 6.

Two generations old, and lot of new binary messages in the 8.

The 8's can do BeiDou and GLONASS, that is helpful.
