Current version is 3.18.1.  Plus many more improvement in git head.

You'll need to use a version not 18 months old.

Also, it would help if you can provide your GPS model.  If it is
u-blox, then the gpsd setup is not working.

gpsd does not use any xxGNS sentence.  So not a problem, when the
GPS is properly configured.

Did you try using 'gpsctl -b' to properly config the GPS?

The problem for me is why is you GPS not configured properly by gpsd
at startup.

Possibly.  Your snippet is insufficient to tell.

Why are you running a u-blox in NMEA mode at all?

I don't see any code in driver_nmea to decode any xxGNS.  When
gpsd reconfigures your GPS, it does not turn on xxGNS.  gpsd
has never used xxGNS.

Why isn't your GPS running the way gpsd set it up?
