Remember, I'm packaging for Debian. I have to install all that stuff on
architectures that need >> 1 hour to build gpsd. Waiting another 10..15
Minutes to install python modules I do not need is a waste of buildd time.

Right now I've just patched SConstruct, that works fine for me for now.

The problem I see with build time check is that they scroll over your
screen much faster than you could see them. I had to search trough the
build log for xgps to find the issue.

cmake and others print issues after the configuring stage, so its obvious.

Is there a way to add a hook to SConstruct to print messages at the very
end of the build/install?
