Yes, I see it.  Help text chnaged, it now reads:

     "Prefix to the binary tools to use (gcc, ld, etc.)\n"
     "Useful for cross-compiling, or building with multiple local toolchains.\n"

Re-read the help text. "Useful", not "Always".
