At least that part could *and should* be tested using the gitlab CI. We
have a freebsd runner, don't think we need to do that on netbsd, but the
release process should be tested.

Regarding running gpsd actually:
I have some recent ublox hw here, just need to find the time to setup a
pi or similar thing as CI runner so we can actually run gpsd on it and
do at least some basic tests.
If somebody could come up with a script that implements such a check,
I'll be happy to setup the gitlab runner in the coming weeks.

Something like
- starting gpsd, maybe without devices and hotplugging them (usbguard
might help, or a remote switchable usb hub)
- checking if the gps/baud rate/... was detected properly
- checking if the location was detected properly
- ....?

could be scripted and run in the CI imho.


Anybody up for it?
