Hi Gary,

if I start gpsd (3.24) with -G ntrip://..... and I have at that moment no connection to the internet (caster) I never get RTCM3 messages and therfore no DGPS FIX or RTK FIX even I have later connection.

If I have a connection at start and I loose it for a while (e.g. no gsm connection) and after that I'm concected again then I get RTCM3 messages, i.e. RTCM3 - no RTCM3 - RTCM3.

Can you explain this behavior or is it an error?

Regards,

Ralph

Yo All!

I tagged gpsd 3.24 for release last Friday, but it took a whil eo get
the tarballs up on Savannah:

    http://download-mirror.savannah.gnu.org/releases/gpsd/

Git head is now marked 3.24.1~dev.

Here is the NEWS for 3.24:

3.24: 2022-04-22
NTRIP 2.0 now works. But still only plain HTML, not RTP, etc.
Remove ntrip option and NTRIP_ENABLE. Always build.
Remove passthrough option and PASSTHROUGH_ENABLE. Always build.
Remove nmea0183 option and NMEA0183_ENABLE. Always build.
Remove netfeed option and NETFEED_ENABLE. Always build.
gpsd will retry ntrip:// and tcp:// connections
cgps can expand to show more sats. Added --rtk option.
  maidenhead() checks for input errors.
  Better SHM logs.
PPS and TOFF JSON now include shm used, and real precision.
  Add initial, untested, TSIPv1 support
split debug messages into different syslog() levels.
New ppscheck options, and can use /dev/ppsX devices.
First try at TSIPv1 protocol decodes.
Decode Quectel $PQVERNO for firmware version
  Decode Skytrak PX1172RH_DS messages.

Not a lot of stuff that affects many people, but a lot of improements
here and there that specific types of end users want/need.

Let's hold off a bit on major changes in case a quick 3.24.1 is needed.

In the meantime I'm going to try to create my own permanent NTRIP 2
base station with an F9P. My local ORGN only supports GPS and some
GLONASS, which makes Galileo, BeiDou, etc. not less useful.

Enjoy!
