Yup.  I assume you are using a DNS name, not an IP?

Yup.

Yup.

gpsd does the DNS lookup on startup, as there is no way for gpsd to do that
asyncronously.  Once gpsd has the IP, it can restart the connection
later, asyncronously.

If you know the IP of your NTRIP server, use that instead.
