Yes.  But ?POLL is rarely used, so not a heavily validated operation.

Nope.  Look in gpsd.c, starting at line 1317.  Just some of the
data.

a) no existing code.
b) AIS does not come in data sets, it is a stream.
c) AIS is a huge stream.
