Can you provide a capture of logs that shows this so we can look at what is possible and what is happening in the code?

Also normal details, version of gpsd and what devices you are working with for context.

But the depth comes from another device, and has nothing to do with the
location. However, the presence of depth could help determine the
location if the coordinates are not available.

I think the gpsd should give the values of other instruments, even if
there are no fix.
