Oh, goodness. I use Lynx. Text based browser. I have Netscape 4.6x and I
should check it with that, but I do not use it for any composing yet.

If you view the BETA page unrendered it should look familiar. I just
snatched README and NEWS out of the snapshot file, did a bit of cutting
and pasting, and that was that.

If you or someone could do that editing you suggest it might go faster. 
Send the results to me e-mail. And keep it yourself for your first 1.12.x
bug fix release.
