BTW, are there significant differences between these two
implementations resp. are all features in xgremlin2 available in
xgremlin also?
Not all. As I remember in xgremlin you cannot mark an action.
For example in xgremlin2 you can click on the vector icon and
after as you lay down points the screen will interactively draw
the lines. In xgremlin you first set the points and after click
on the icon. That's not a big deal, however for certain other
things the way that xgremlin2 works can be more useful. For
example you may have a polygon or spline already drawn that you
want to reshape. In xgremlin2 you could first click on the icon
that moves the points and as you move the point the shape will
be automatically redrawn in real time. In xgremlin you have to
redraw the point and after when you click on the icon the new
shape will appear. Maybe that's one of the reasons why the
xgremlin binaries are smaller.
