IIRC, Bernd wants to indent the text inside a conditional statement.
He can't put spaces before it because that would have an effect. Thus,
he wants .text which he can spell `. text' to provide the indent.
Personally, it seems overkill. Like having a #code in cpp for
prefixing all the lines inside an #if :-)
