No, my ttf2tfm tool (from the ttf2pk package) extracts and builds them
into the TFM file.

Try the fonttools package (from http://fonttools.sf.net) to
disassemble your font, then you will get a thorough answer.
Alternatively, look for the string `kern' at the beginning of your
font file. If present, chances are high that a kerning table is in
the font.
