[Groff] ms and eqn

Has the -ms package changed?  When I tried the
example from the eqn user's guide, 2nd edition,
section 15, lining up equations, I found it 
didn't work.  To make it work I needed to insert
a .br command between each equation.  This section
concerns the use of the mark and lineup commands.
The example, as written, works with the -me package.
