I've applied your patches.  Thanks a lot!  It is indeed much faster.

Two things:

  . Ctrl-C quits groff but not grohtml -- we need to shut up grohtml
    and its processes at the same time.

  . Please have a look at section 21.1 of pic.html; there is a bug
    with the labels of the item list.
