Are you thinking of doing color too? If not, pgm should be simpler.
So the issue is what format to use to import these into groff. I
would suggest gremlin so to simplify the post-editing by using
xgremlin. I have to learn a bit about the pnm/pgm formats to see
how complex would be to write such filter.
