It's not clear what you mean by "suppress special title page
processing".
If you simply do not want a title page, then simply do not
use any of the special title/cover page macros. Start your
document with the text you want on the first page, formatted
as you wish.
On the other hand, if you want a title/cover page, but do
not want the way the ms macros do this, then similarly
construct your own, and make this your page 1 (as above).
Can you clarify what your problem really is?
