Diversion longer than page

Hi, I 've been working with the hdtbl.
and I noticed one inconvenience when working with long tables.
if they are longer than the length of the page they don't get printed on
the page...
The table is stored in diversion. Is there some easy way to force the
diversion to print on multiple pages?
Or to split the diversion ?
I have seen in the manual that I can get the length of the diversion with
\n[dn].
Should I start with that , to split the diversion in to multiple diversions
?
