kruler aside, there's another way to tell--inspect troff(1)'s output.

...and I get no difference.

$ /usr/bin/groff -Z -K utf8 -P -pa4 -T pdf ATTIC/bini.roff \
  >| ATTIC/bini-a4-1.22.4.grout
$ groff -Z -K utf8 -P -pa4 -T pdf ATTIC/bini.roff >| \
  ATTIC/bini-a4-1.23.0.grout
$ cmp ATTIC/bini-a4-1.22.4.grout ATTIC/bini-a4-1.23.0.grout && echo SAME
SAME

Something like

$ grep '^ *$' mymacro.tmac

is what I had in mind.
