I can see how you were lured in that direction.  I'm not sure I would
want to be in the position of defending this aspect of groff mm's
design.

I think there are multiple kinds of insider.  Jörgen Hägg would be the
true insider for groff mm.  I'm more like Howard Carter coming across
the sealed tomb of groff mm, untouched for many years, with some tools
and a little training but no real insight into the mind of the
architect.

(One might also argue that, like any Edwardian-era explorer, immediately
upon encountering an artifact, I started contaminating it.[1])
