True, mom does have DOCTYPE LETTER, which provides a template for
creating correspondence, however it is skewed in the direction of
standard North American business correspondence.  DIN 5008 is not
natively supported, but mom, like most macro packages, can be used
as a starting point to generate any kind of document you like.

This grown man's not weeping. :) Mom has always implemented
switching between typewritten and typeset copy of the same
document (with the PRINTSTYLE directive), a functionality I find
indispensable for generating hard copies of drafts for blue
penciling.

My way of saying, "Don't be afraid of the t-word."  Neatly
formatted, typewritten/double-spaced still has its place.
