The current code would probe 4 ports recognized by BIOS. If BIOS
doesn't initialize PCI serial devices, then it won't work. The devices
would need to be configured and enabled. I don't think the necessary
code is present in GRUB. That's not to say that it cannot be written.
By the way, there is a nasty bug in the serial driver that affects
non-PC machines. I'm fixing it now.
