problem getting guile with anoncvs

I log in with:

  $ cvs -d :pserver:address@hidden:/cvs/guile login

I try to check out guile-core with:

  $ cvs -z 9 -d :pserver:address@hidden:/cvs/guile co
guile-core

and get the following error messages:

cvs server: Updating guile-core
cvs server: failed to create lock directory in repository
cvs/guile/guile/guil
e-core': Permission denied
cvs server: failed to obtain dir lock in repository
cvs/guile/guile/guile-core'
cvs [server aborted]: read lock failed - giving up

I'm running on W98 and used cygwin and wincvs and get the same error
messages.  Any help?
